Mike & Jenny
We are Mike and Jenny, and we would love to add to our family through adoption. We have been married for over 20 years and have four biological children, the youngest just a week old! We have loved being parents and have devoted our time to creating the best possible environment for our children. We are both clinical psychologists, but Jenny is a stay-at-home mom who teaches online classes part-time for a local university and has homeschooled our kids through elementary school. All of our older children play the piano and violin (and sometimes other instruments) and have played team sports, taken art classes, and participated in the town’s chess club, state-level creative writing contests (sometimes placing!), and our church’s youth programs. We love exposing them to different ideas, opportunities, and experiences and nurturing their personal interests!
Our psychology training has exposed us to individuals in unique circumstances, and we have a ‘soft spot’ for children with special needs. In addition to being a psychologist, Mike earned a law degree, has experience in the local Guardian ad Litem’s office, and worked in the field of disability services for over eight years. Jenny also worked in the field of rehabilitation psychology and understands the importance of supportive services for children with special needs.
We live in a wonderful community (traditionally ranked as one of the best places to live in the U.S.) with two major universities, three hospitals, and many recreational sites within a few miles of our home. Our neighbors are very accepting of children with disabilities and always ensure that activities are accessible for them. We would love to adopt a child and introduce him or her to our family, community, and new(born) best friend!
